Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!

                    About:

This is the tale of five unlikely heroes who unite under the name of the "Earth Defense Club" alongside a pink wombat-like alien to defend their world and restore love to all; however, does a sinister organization lurk behind the scenes of Binan High school?

My Review:

When I first heard about this anime, I was so excited! I mean a magical boy anime? How cool is that! I remember waiting for months on end for it to come out. When it finally did, I watched the first episode the moment it was available. I instantly loved it. I mean it is such a cute show that is so comical. It's a very non-serious anime with many gags, bad transformation outfits(though I don't think they're too bad, kinda cute) and non-scary monsters. I liked it a lot in the beginning but started to dislike it towards the end. Most anime, even with only twelve episodes have a point and this one didn't. It mostly played off the fact that it was the first magical boy anime.

In this anime, five teenagers encounter a pink wombat and are told that they are the princes of love and must save the world from domination. So they transform, learning their new powers while making tight bonds with each other and fighting the monster of the week. Each have their own special powers and bonds with one another.

Wombat was an interesting character. I mean since he is the one who created the Battle Lovers he should be wise and teach them like Luna from Sailor Moon but instead when he wasn't being cuddled by Yumoto, he was just yelling at them to take their roles more seriously or just doing nothing. I wish he had a better role. Yumoto is the leader of the Battle Lovers. He loves to cuddle and taking baths. He is also the youngest of the group and the most eccentric. I liked his character a lot. He was really cute. I also liked that he wasn't an air head or a cry baby. He is hot headed though so at times he rushed into things a little bit. Io is the rich one of the group. He is highly intelligent and loves money. He is constantly finding ways to make money and when to cut his loses. I also liked his character a lot. He had an episode about him and his personality but I would have liked to have seen his character more developed. Most of the time he was on a laptop or tablet trying to make money. Atsushi is really smart. He's got the top grades in the group. He is also really sweet and calm. He constantly thinks about others and how they would feel. Is sometimes too nice. He was my favorite character. He is just so cool and calm. He's still weird but not as much as the others. He had the most character development which is why I probably like him the most. En is the lazy one of the group. He is also very indifferent except towards his friends. Otherwise he doesn't really care about anything. I like his character as well. I also really love his friendship between him and Atsushi. I liked learning that they bonded over curry and that they are still friends. They are really great together and no that is not me making a ship even though one episode hinted at that. Actually that episode hinted at a lot of different ships but I am so not going there. Ryuu is pretty funny. He is the womanizer of the group even though we don't see him with a single girl. Actually there was not one single female character in the show. I don't know if that was deliberate or not but it is interesting. All the characters were very weird and interesting in their own ways. I enjoyed watching them.

There was really no plot. There is kinda one at the end which explains why the Battle Lovers existed and what not. It wasn't that great. I wish there was a better plot. I mean by the end the show was getting a little eh. I mean it was still funny, but the monsters kind of were ridiculous. Also the ending was weird. There was a random robot, random angel wings, and just a whole lot of randomness. It's like the creators didn't know what to do so they pulled out random objects out of a hat and went with it. It was disappointing. I mean I was so happy to get a magical boy anime and it was really good in the beginning. It just went downhill from there.

Overall, it was okay. It started off really good but the lack of plot, silly monsters, and the random stuff in the end brought it down. But don't think that it is a horrible anime overall. It's really funny with great characters. To transform they have to say love making. LOVE MAKING. They also say a lot of other interesting things. But it's not creepy or anything. Like I said earlier, this show is full of gags and is a great show to watch if you're not looking for anything heavy. This show was made for girls. I don't think guys would like it but I do know a few who do so if your a guy don't write it of. I highly recommend this show if you love magical girl anime and light fluffy shows full of gags.

My Review:

This was one of the books that has helped me out of my reading slump. I was at Target just looking around and there it was on the shelf. All bright blue and happy looking. What made me pick it up though was the title. It was interesting. I loved the description, so I just had to take a copy home with me. I'm so glad I did too. This book was light and so cute. I loved the little funny jokes that were in there. The one about the titanic was my favorite. I had so much fun reading this book. I especially loved the blog posts. I liked getting to see them. This book kind of made me want to write my own diary blog but then I figured I had this blog and two would be way too much. Besides, I have my one-shot diary, so I'm good.

This book is about a girl named Penny. She has a blog where she posts all about her fears, frustrations, and happy times. It's the place she can be most real. She also deals with some back stabbing friends, a fight with her very best friend, falling in love, and getting your heart broken. Basically what most teenagers go through. I went through almost all of those things I just listed. This book is very relatable which I liked a lot. Yeah some things about the book might now happen to you(this is tied to Noah's secret) but the gist is the same.

Penny is such a sweet girl. I love her character a lot. She's really nice and just so innocent. But she also has her own faults. She is in every sense a relatable teenager. There were many times that I could connect with her throughout the book. I loved her character so much and grew so attached to her. I liked Noah a lot as well. He was really cool and the type of guy most girls want as their boyfriends. He's very sweet, thoughtful, and romantic. He is the perfect fantasy. Though this is a book so I'm glad his character is the way it is. I liked him a lot for Penny. I thought their personalities worked really well together. I also liked how rocky their relationship got. I mean it isn't all sunshine and rainbows so again there was another realistic moment in there. Noah's little sister was also so adorable as well. I couldn't get enough of her cuteness. I wish my little sister was like her. Instead, I got the demon child for my little sister. I absolutely loved Elliot. I wish I had a best friend like him. He was always there for Penny and he's just such an awesome guy. He encouraged Penny so much. I'm jealous of Penny. Yeah I know, it's weird to be jealous of a fictional character but oh well. It's true. All the characters were great. Even Penny's horrible friends. You always have to have those characters you love to hate.

I liked the plot a lot. Zoe took a tired plot and turned it into something really unique and entertaining. There was drama that wasn't too much, romance, friendship, betrayal, and so many realistic scenes. Yes, there will be one thing that isn't so realistic but the moments that are so relatable really make up for it. All teenagers, not just girls, can relate to this novel. The main character may be a girl, but the things she went through are what we teenagers go through all the time. I also love the cover. It's so cute and such a great idea. I absolutely love it.

Overall, this was an amazing book especially since this is the author's first novel. I'm really impressed. I was never bored while reading this book. It's quirky, funny, realistic, relatable, and just plain fun. I highly recommend this book to teenagers. Yes, adults would like it too but I think people my age would enjoy it more. I'm so glad I read this book and absolutely can't wait to read the next one. If you have read the book, comment below what you thought about it.

My Review:

I found this manga at AnimeNext in the dealers room. It looked pretty interesting so I bought a volume. I'm truthfully not a big fan of the cover. I don't like how it looks but I read the description anyway and I instantly bought it. It sounded really good and right up my alley. The characters were funny and I just really enjoyed the story. I'm upset that I didn't buy volumes two and three at the convention. My fault though, I was worried I wouldn't like it but I was wrong and now have to order it online and wait until it arrives at my door. If you like comedy, magic, fantasy, and adventure I highly suggest you take a look at this manga as well.
In this volume, Cecero starts of having just a normal day with his friend Sheko who is possessed by a demon. They go to a school for magic users. Cecero being of good breed and is very handsome has a huge fan club that likes to attack him with the human wave which for some reason he does not like. Besides the wave his day was going good. Then he gets attack which reveals something interesting about Cecero.
Cecero was a cool main character. I like how childish he could be. Not as much as Sheko but close enough. I liked his character a lot. Despite his childish demeanor at times he seems like a very mature strong character. I like that. I'm not always a fan of main characters being silly. I don't mind supporting haracters like Sheko as silly but not my main characters. I look forward to learning more bout him in the next volume. I absolutely love Sheko. He is my favorite character. He is just so cute and funny. I couldn't get enough of him. He's just too adorable and funny.  I love how goofy he gets when he's near his crush Kayko. I also found it really interesting that he was possessed by a demon but it didn't control him. I found him to be a very intriguing character. Kayko was interesting. I didn't see much of her but the few bits I did see were really cool. She's such a tough girl but when Cecero comes around she gets all fan girly. I think it's really funny. Poor Sheko. I liked all the characters I saw. I can't wait to see more of them especially Sheko.
The plot is not much unique. It's another weird dream with hidden powers and so and so. It's done very well though so I wasn't bored in the slightest. So don't let the cliche plot bother you. All the details and characters are really unique and so much fun to watch. I may have not liked the cover but I did love the art on the inside. It's so good. I love how Sheko is drawn. He looks as cute as his personality is. I think Cecero looks cool too. He does look a bit girlish to me but some guys do so it's nothing really. Kayko is drawn really well too. I liked how all the characters were drawn. If you're unsure because of the cover give this volume a chance anyway.

Overall, I really enjoyed this manga. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. It was full of action and amazing characters. I enjoyed the characters the most. I do really recommend this manga if you love magic, fantasy, funny characters, and the supernatural. You will really enjoy this. I swear. I myself can't wait to get my hands on the next volume. I need to know what happens next.

AnimeNext 2015

So, this past weekend I had the chance to go to AnimeNext in Somerset New Jersey. It was my first anime convention ever so I was really nervous and excited. It was a lot better than I expected. There were so many cosplayers there and so many other cool things. Below I have some of the pictures I took of cosplayers.

This is the first person I took a picture of. Isn't she so beautiful? I loved her cosplay of Aries from Fairy Tail. Since Fairy Tail is one of my favorite animes and she did so well with her cosplay I couldn't not take her picture. You could see Leo next to her in the background with that bright orange hair.

Look closely. Does this cosplay look familiar? I even had to ask this beautiful soul who she was cosplaying because it looked so familiar to me. I'll give you a hint. She is cosplaying someone from Haikyuu!! Get it now? If not one more hint is that it's the school uniform instead of this character's usual gym clothes. If you still don't get it then go re-watch the anime or watch it if you haven't yet. But I guess I can cut you some slack. This girl is cosplaying Kiyoko Shimizu.

I know what you're thinking. The dress is gorgeous. So is the girl in it. Sadly I didn't realize the shadow across her face when I took the picture. It was so bright out that it was hard to see and I'm not good with technology so I had to edit it a little to see her face. I feel so bad that I didn't take a better picture but I'm glad we're able to see her face.

So this is a cosplay of Black Lady or Wicked Lady depending upon if you know her by the dub or sub. She was the only one I saw do this cosplay which was awesome. I love that she had her own Luna P. This was the only photo I had of the cosplayer smiling. Doesn't she look so pretty? I loved her cosplay a lot.

This is a cosplay of the outer senshi. All the Sailor Moon cosplayers at ANimeNext were doing a photo shoot. So that's why I have so many pictures of Sailor Moon cosplay. On the right be have punk Sailor Pluto and Sailor Neptune and on the left are the regular cosplays of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Saturn. I love the Sailor Saturn Cosplay. She looks so cute!

This is a picture of all the inner senshi. There are so many Sailor Moons and Sailor Venuses. I absolutely love male Sailor Venus. He looks so cute and great. I love how confident he was. Not many guys would admit to being fans of Sailor Moon and yet here he is cosplaying Sailor Venus. He's like my hero! Don't they all look pretty though?

I wasn't going to post any individual senshi scouts but I had to post this one. During the photo shoot the people who were cosplaying Kingdom of Hearts kept having to move where they were taking oictures so they constantly photo bombing the shoot. It was so funny. Poor guys. I don't know if they ever found a spot though.

Ok so these are all the punk Sailor Scouts at the photo shoot. Starting at the far left in order are Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Moon, Sailor Neptune, and finally Sailor Pluto. I love how they did a group cosplay and their handmade outfits. The bottom picture is of their jackets because I love their slogan so much. If you can't read it it says, "Bitches who slay together stay together." Isn't that so cute?

So these are the guys cosplaying for Sailor Moon. We have punk Sailor Moon which you have seen already, Tuxedo Mask, Ace, and Artemis. The first picture was a regular picture but the second was pretty funny. SO we were taking regular pictures and then someone yelled for them to fight. Tuxedo mask was choking Ace and well you can see what happened between Artemis and punk Sailor Moon up there.

Finally, this is all the Sailor Moon cosplayers all together. For some reason they wouldn't squish in together so it's hard to see them all. They all did such a great job.

This is two cosplayers portraying one of my favorite animes. On the left is Dr. Stein and the right is Spirit from the anime Soul Eater. I wish I got a better angle of them. I think they did a really great job though.

There was a lot of people hanging out outside the venue. Some knew each other, others they just met. It was really cool. There was also a volleyball game outside which was so much fun. No one was keeping score and just were bragging about being able to score a point since there was an unlimited amount of people playing. What was also really cool was that most of them were still in cosplay. It was in the 90's then. I mean it was so hot. It was really fun though. Even the people who were participating had a good time. I mean there was so much excited good energy in the air. There was no way you could be grumpy.

Overall, the panels were really great to. I loved going to them. I also got a bunch of figurines and art from the dealers room and artist alley. The only problem was that the organization was terrible and some of the lines were outside in the direct sunlight. They wouldn't allow us to line up in the shade. Also sometimes they didn't let people in on time. It was just ridiculous. They had a year to plan. They should have done a better job. I had fun though and don't regret going at all. I plan on attending next year and hopefully they get their acts together.

Spotlight Monday: Inuyasha by Rumiko Takahashi

                   About:

Kagome is a modern Japanese high school girl. Never the type to believe in myths and legends, her world view dramatically changes when, one day, she's pulled out of her own time and into another! There, in Japan's ancient past, Kagome discovers more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and that her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular—the dog-like half-demon called Inuyasha! That same trick of fate also ties them both to the Shikon Jewel, or "Jewel of Four Souls." But demons beware...the smallest shard of the Shikon Jewel can give the user unimaginable power.

If you saw the anime and didn't really like it don't worry the manga is much better. I saw the anime first and liked it but I was disappointed with it. I then read the manga and fell in love with the characters all over again without the disappointment. It's also a really funny. There are so many scenes where I couldn't stop giggling. It is a high recommend.

**If there is a manga, anime, movie, book, etc. that you just love and want to shout out to the world then post about it in the comments below and it will appear in the next Spotlight Monday**
